Big salads, eggs any time before three, and a flat white the regulars swear by. The menu is marked up like a regular’s copy: vegetarian in green, vegan in blue, today’s special in yellow and gone for today in red.
The tray
Four colours, and each one means something.
A menu with footnotes nobody reads is a menu you have to ask about. A mark is a thing you can see from across the table.
Today’s special
Changes daily. The board by the counter has the same mark.
Vegetarian
No meat, no fish. Eggs and dairy are in there.
Vegan
Nothing from an animal, and oat milk is never an upcharge.
Gone for today
Sold out. The kitchen marks it from the till so you are not disappointed at the counter.

Pick a time
As soon as it is ready, or any half hour from 7:30. Leave a name for the bag and a number in case we have a question.
Grab the bag
It waits on the shelf by the door with your name on it. Pay at the counter: card, tap or cash.
The ticket
Plain paper, with the pencil marks left in.
What the kitchen gets when you order ahead: the items, the time, the name on the bag. The marks come with it, so a vegan bowl is never built with the egg.
On the live site the café gets it right away and texts you when the bag is on the shelf.

Do you take reservations?
For six or more, yes: call the café. Everyone else, just walk in. Families welcome, laptops welcome until noon, dogs welcome on the patio.
Vegan and gluten-free?
Vegan dishes are marked in blue on the menu, vegetarian in green. Gluten-free bread is available for any sandwich or toast; the kitchen does handle flour.
How does pickup work?
Order on the Order page, pick a time, and pay at the counter. Your bag waits on the shelf by the door with your name on it.
Is there parking?
Street parking on Sample Street and a public lot one block east. The bike rack is by the patio gate.
